Homer Broadcast Spot and

Image Campaign


Homer, a learn-to-read app designed to create custom curricula for each student, sought Idol’s help to develop a TV spot for their PBS debut. They wanted to communicate to parents that the Homer program celebrates uniqueness over a one-size-fits-all approach, and inspires creativity in children beyond the screens on which the app is used.

Working from Homer’s brand book, Idol put together several scripts and mood boards featuring custom animation to illustrate how Homer taps into each child’s imagination and makes them enjoy learning to read. We featured kids at home with their parents, reading about self-selected topics catered to their interests. In shooting the final concept, Idol also made sure to leverage talent for custom testimonials for use on web and in social.

The commercial currently is airing during PBS’ Dinosaur Train and Pinkalicious programming.
